Embarking on a new career is no easy task. And, becoming a teacher has its challenges. One such challenge is the Praxis Core tests. Many colleges and universities demand a passing score on this series of exams. This is in order to enter into their teacher education programs. And, in a lot of states, a passing score is needed to be certified as a teacher at schools.
What is the Praxis Core exam?
The Praxis Core (also known as Praxis I) is different from the Praxis II tests, which are exams in particular subjects. The Praxis Core Tests are also called the Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST). These tests assess the broad academic skills of an individual. Specifically, skills someone would need to earn a degree in education.

The Three Parts of the Praxis Core Test
The Praxis Core tests are computerized exams. They will measure your skills in three subject areas: math, reading, and writing.
Math: The mathematics test features 56 selected-response questions. It focuses on four subject areas. Namely, algebra and functions; number and quantity; geometry; and statistics and probability. You will be able to use an on-screen calculator. You will be given 85 minutes to finish the maths part of the Praxis Core test.
Reading: This test features 56 selected-response questions. It focuses on three subject areas. Namely, structure, craft, language skills, key ideas, and integration of ideas and knowledge. You will be given 85 minutes to finish the reading part of the Praxis core test.
Writing: The writing test features 40 selected-response questions and 2 essay questions. It focuses on two topics. Firstly, purposes, text types, and production, and secondly, research skills and language for writing. You will be given 100 minutes to finish the writing part of the test.
All in all, the Praxis Core tests feature 152 questions and 2 essays. You will have a total of 5 hours to complete the test.

How to Beat the Praxis Exam?
