Understanding the Korn Ferry ViaEdge
Korn Ferry ViaEdge is a self report questionnaire that evaluates your Learning Agility, which can be defined as the ability to learn from experiences and apply that knowledge helping you adapt to new experiences and situations.
Korn Ferry research has shown that agile leaders are more likely to be successful in the leadership position, they are more adaptable, are better problem solvers, more innovative and open to new experiences and are resilient.

Varying Types of Question Format
The organizations are free to choose from different approaches to evaluate the candidates. The approaches include:
Learning from Experience (LFE) Interview
This is a structured interview method that includes open ended, in depth questions that prompt candidates to provide detailed examples of their experiences. These responses enable the interviewers to evaluate essential traits of the candidates required on the job.
- Describe a situation where you encountered a setback during a project. How did you adjust your approach, and what was the final outcome?
- Can you talk about a time when you had to take on a responsibility outside of your usual role? How did you manage the unfamiliar task, and what did you learn from the experience?
Choices Multi-Rater Tool
This approach gathers input from multiple raters, that includes peers, subordinates, supervisors or even clients. It’s a 360- degree feedback, where the questions are standardized and rating based evaluating learning agility from different perspectives.
Rating Scale: On a scale of 1 to 5, how effectively does this individual adapt to unexpected changes in their work environment?
Forced-Choice Item: Select the statement that best describes the individual’s leadership style:
- Encourages the team to stick to proven strategies

ViaEdge Self Assessment
This approach involves a self report questionnaire that evaluates the candidates through either multiple choice or Likert scale questions. The questions are designed to assess candidates’ ability to learn from experiences, ability to adapt to situations and apply what they have learned.

It looks at five important areas that show how well you can adapt to new situations. These are Self-awareness, Mental Agility, People Agility, Change Agility, and Results Agility. Understanding these can help show where you might lead best.
You’ll see different types of questions:
